Returning Students Financial Aid Checklist
All continuing students who wish to receive assistance for the 2008-2009 academic year MUST complete and submit the items below by the deadline dates. All steps must be completed in order to receive aid and avoid penalties.
| Document | Deadline | ||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FAFSA | March 2, 2008 | ||||||||
| Accept Electronic Financial Aid Award Letter | 2 weeks after (accessed through your CLU email account) receipt or no later than July 1, 2008 | ||||||||
| Verification Documents | Federal and State eligibility will be evaluated based on the resources available at the time you submit your financial aid application and supporting verification documentation. If you fail to submit the documentation by the following deadlines, your University need-based financial aid will be reduced by the following percentages according to University Financial Aid Policy.
If you have filed for an extension on your federal tax return, please submit a copy of FORM 4868 (Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return) and your 2007 W-2s, 1099s or other earnings statements. Your financial aid will not be finalized until we receive the completed Tax Return; however, you will not be penalized for the late submission of documents. |
If you would like to utilize student and/or parent loans to meet University costs, you may apply below. The application dates shown will allow the loan proceeds to arrive in time to pay your fall bill.
| Parent PLUS Loan | July 1, 2008 |
| Stafford Loan | July 1, 2008 |
If you end up applying for loans later in the term, you must have a complete financial aid and loan application at least 7 business days prior to the end of the term and contact your financial aid counselor.
